What is Boudoir?

Boudoir can be described as a type of intimate photo shoot. Often times women do boudoir photo shoots to gift to their partner during special holidays/anniversaries in their life. Boudoir can be a great way to document life changes like weight loss surgery, where a women finally can say she feels comfortable in her own skin. Many women who have done boudoir shoots with me have mentioned that the shoots have helped them gain confidence, and see their true beauty.

What to Expect During a Session?

As a photographer who is experienced in boudoir, I make it my main goal during the shoot to make sure my clients feel comfortable during the session. At our last event we had snacks and wine and mood music to ensure our ladies felt welcome. Boudoir sessions most often take place in a hotel room, and you will have choices of many different settings in the hotel room, depending on the theme/idea's you have prior to the shoot. I personally recommend putting together a theme and researching poses that you feel comfortable with to ensure that you are getting the most out of the shoot that you can.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I rent the hotel suite?

A: In most cases our boudoir session's are scheduled as a group event with appointment time slots, so you are not expected to rent hotel room unless it is a requested private shoot.

Q: Do you provide lingerie?

A: Due to sanitation and health concerns we do not provide the lingerie. All clients are expected to provide their own lingerie.

Q: Will you take nude photos?

A: If that is something that the client is requesting, I will. In regards to printing the photos, I am not responsible if any photo printer's do not allow printing.

Q: Are there photo book options available?

A: Yes, there are. These are usually built into the cost of the appointment time slots when we hold boudoir sessions. If they are not combined into the cost of the appointment slot please do not be afraid to ask if it is possible, I strive to ensure that my clients are happy with their services.

Q: Will my photos be published for all to see?

A: No, I take pride in keeping my clients boudoir photos confidential. I may ask on the waiver if you are okay with me sharing them with other potential clients (female only), and if I would want to share them I would okay that with you first, including which pictures I would be sharing.

Q: Should I come with hair and makeup done?

A: When we advertise for the boudoir event we will advertise if we have a makeup artist of not.  All booked clients will be informed if there is or is not a makeup artist available for the session.
